Ian Weaver (b. 1970).

Assistant Professor, Saint Mary's College, South Bend, IN. Instructor, Painting and Drawing, Foundations, Art Education, and Interdisciplinary departments at the School of the Art institute of Chicago (2009-2014).

B.A., Liberal Arts, Columbia College in Chicago (1993). M.F.A., Visual Art, Washington University in St Louis (2008).

Exhibitions include a survey of work (2004-2011) at the South Bend Museum of Art, as well as solo exhibitions at The Chicago Cultural Center (2015), the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art (iMOCA, 2014); Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis, MO (2009-10); and Packer Schopf Gallery, Chicago, IL (2010). Group exhibitions include shows at the Illinois State Museums, Chicago and Springfield, IL; and the Kemper Art Museum and White Flag Projects, both in St. Louis, MO.

He has lectured as a Visiting Artist at various institutions, including Washington University in St Louis, and Notre Dame. He has been a recipient of numerous residencies, including the ISCP Artadia Residency, New York; Yaddo and the Millay Colony, both in upstate NY; and Ragdale, Lake Forest, IL. Awards include grants from Artadia and the Joan Mitchell Foundation, both based in NY; the Illinois Arts Council; and the Department of Cultural Affairs, Chicago, IL.
